BILLY F GIBBONS for Adopt The Arts
“With the world, the way things are going, you know, people gotta get out there and pitch in, and help just make the world a better place … We’ve been so blessed, playing music all of our lives, and meeting so many people all over the world, that it’s sort of a natural fit for us to just say, hey man, how can we help?”
Matt Sorum
Whether it’s the epic percussive backdrop behind Guns N’ Roses’ “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door” or the propulsive punked-out beat fueling Velvet Revolver’s “Dirty Little Thing,” Sorum’s playing remains unique, undeniable and unforgettable. Sorum’s presence extends far beyond the kit, as an activist for animals and the arts. He's the US Ambassador for Animals Asia, Board Member of Dolphin Project, Ambassador for the Olive Ridley Project, and Co-Founder of Adopt the Arts, to keep music alive in schools.
